💙 Volunteer Opportunities for Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 5–9) Dear Central Elementary Families, Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is just around the corner — **May 5 through May 9** — and we need **your help** to celebrate the amazing team that pours so much heart into our students every single day! We’re planning a week full of gratitude, fun, and surprises, and there are many ways families can get involved: --- 🎁 **Gifts & Treats** - **Daily Themed Treats:** Coordinate or donate goodies for themed days (Breakfast in the Emerald City, Nacho Tuesday, etc.) - **Snack Cart/Lollipop Guild:** Stock or help roll out a treat cart with drinks, snacks, and sweets. - **Gift Cards & Raffles:** Donate gift cards or items for prize drawings. - **Personal Notes:** Help collect or encourage students to write thank-you cards. 🎉 **Decor & Vibes** - **Hallway/Bulletin Board Decorating:** Help set the scene with festive decorations. - **Door Decorating:** Adopt a staff member's door and give it a creative makeover. - **Photo Booth/Backdrop:** Create a fun area for staff to snap pics and make memories. 🍽️ **Meals & Refreshments** - **Breakfast/Lunch Volunteers:** Assist with setup or serving staff meals. - **Potluck Help:** Organize or contribute to a potluck meal. - **Coffee & Pastry Bar:** Host a cozy morning station with coffee and baked goods. 🎈 **Events & Surprises** - **Daily Raffles or Mystery Prizes:** Help organize or deliver surprise goodies. --- If you’re interested in helping out, **please email Mrs. Gagliardo at Julianne.Gagliardo@okeeschools.org ** and let her know what you'd like to do. Today was our annual Wax Museum and WOW — what an incredible day! Mrs. Howard’s 2nd grade class and Mrs. Faircloth’s 4th grade class did a phenomenal job — they truly brought history to life! From famous figures to powerful presentations, these students amazed us all with their creativity, confidence, and knowledge! A special thank you to the Okeechobee Sheriff’s Department, Okeechobee Police, Okeechobee Fire Department, and all the amazing members of our community who came out to support our students today. If you have a child getting ready to start kindergarten at Central Elementary, registration will take place Tuesday, April 15th at the school (610 SW 5th Ave). Note: Your child is welcome to attend, but it’s not required. To complete enrollment, please bring the following documents:    •   Completed Registration Packet    •   Parent ID (Driver’s License or Passport)    •   Proof of Address (Lease Agreement or Utility Bill in the parent/guardian’s name.
