We recognize that having access to a cell phone is an important part of many families’ safety plans, especially in the event of an emergency. However, with the signing of House Bill 1105 by Governor DeSantis, schools across Florida are now required to make changes to student cell phone use during the school day. In response, we have updated our district’s cell phone guidelines to ensure compliance with the law while minimizing disruption to families and maintaining student safety. Our goal is to implement the law in a way that places the least possible restriction on responsible student use.
