Superintendent Ken Kenworthy launched Okee Reads in 2017 to bring the Footsteps2Brilliance bilingual
early literacy mobile app to all residents within the County. Students have demonstrated impressive
growth reading more than 107 Million Words and spending 35,385 Hours building strong literacy
foundations. This year’s trophy challenge helped increase gains in phonological awareness, phonics,
language development, and comprehension.
